BRINGING three world leaders together is no mean feat, so hats off to Cambridgeshire businesswoman Linda Briggs who achieved just that.
But these weren't world leaders in a political sense, but world leaders from the field of cosmetic surgery, of which Linda remains one of the leading voices in the UK. Last month, she arranged a seminar for potential clients, business
partners and press that brought together three of the most famous faces in the field from France and the USA.
Dr Pascal from Lyon is regarded as one of the world's experts on body lifts, the art of removing surplus skin following massive weight loss.
Thanks to the rise in weight loss surgery both in the NHS and private sectors this type of surgery is becoming more and more sought after and Dr Pascal is regarded as the best in his field.
Professor Yousif from the USA also flew in especially
for the event, his area of expertise being face lifts.
Combine this with Dr Hamza who specialises in breast surgery and pretty much every area of the body was covered at the seminar, designed to introduce past and new clients to a unique opportunity. Past clients mingled with new customers; all eager to hear about the latest advancements in cosmetic surgery and were delighted when Linda revealed that all three of these world class surgeons would now be operating at a special rate for her clients
from a state of the art hospital in Tunisia, if they were happy for their operations to be watched by training surgeons. Of course, this means Linda's usual combination of top quality surgery from world leading surgeons at the most affordable cost.
Linda, now in her eleventh year of business as an independent surgery adviser, said: "Yes there is a recession, but women do not want to give up their life-changing dream of having surgery for whatever reason so instead they are looking for a way
to make it more affordable.
"But with surgery the last thing you want to compromise on is quality. Patients happy for their operation to be filmed by these world class surgeons, for teaching purposes, allows me to negotiate a discounted price for what really would be the very best work.
"Of course, these surgeons are available to my clients anyway, but this latest opportunity might appeal to somebody who was struggling financially to go ahead with the operation they desired."
The recession has not stopped Linda's plans to expand and the company now boasts a dental department to assist clients wishing to travel abroad for more affordable dental work.
"It's something a lot of patients have been asking me to set up for a long time and so I decided to meet their demand and go for it. People still want great teeth; they just can't afford it in the UK."
Linda Briggs now sends patients to more than 29 countries for surgery and as well as surgery is now
becoming a voice of medical tourism
"I regularly liase with embassy officials about what patients expect when travelling to a different country and people want me to help put them on the map as a medial tourism destination, but of course only those that pass my checks and tests make the grade."
Linda concluded:"I spend more time liaising with officials from different countries that I feel like a diplomat more than a surgery adviser".
